The pilgrimage church of the Holy Trinity and St. Michael (Basilika Sonntagberg) is situated high on a hill east of the Ybbs valley. The first chapel was built by the abbot of Seitenstetten in 1440. This was replaced by a late Gothic church in 1490. The present church was built in splendid Baroque style from 1706 until 1732 by the architects Jakob Prandtauer and Josef Munggenast. The ceiling frescoes were painted by Daniel Gran. The miracle-working image of the Holy Trinity dates from 1614. The church received the title Basilica minor from Pope Paul VI in 1964.
