Lázně Kundratice
de: Bad Kunnersdorf
Lázně Kundratice is situated at an elevation of 354 m on the river Ploučnice (German: Polzen)
southwest of the Ještěd mountain in the Liberec district
of northern Bohemia. Lázně Kundratice belongs to the municipality of Osečná.
Osečná was first mentioned in the 14th century and at that time belonged to Kundratice.
The mud bath of Lázně Kundratice (Bad Kunnersdorf)
was founded in 1881 and thus is one of the oldest spa places in the Czech Republic. In 1908 the spa facilities were
purchased by the municipality of Osečná (Oschitz) which modernized the spa buildings in 1913/1914.
During World War II the spa was used for military purposes. After the war it was run by the Czechoslovak state.
The spa was privatized in 1992 and now is operated by the corporation Lázně Kundratice a.s.
