The climatic resort Kurort Hartha is situated in the Tharandter Wald forest region, which is part of the eastern foothills of the Erzgebirge mountains of southern Saxony. Kurort Hartha became popular as a spa in the second half of the 19th century. When the spa baths were built in 1870 it also became known as Bad Kurort Hartha. On 1st January, 1999, Kurort Hartha became part of the municipality Tharandt.

The building shown on glass no. 809 is the former recreation home of the the pension funds of the Imperial Railroad Company (Erholungsheim der Pensionskasse der Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft).
