Mirsk (Friedeberg until 1945) is situated on the river Kwisa (German: Queis) in Lower Silesia. It was first mentioned in the 13th century and obtained the status of a town prior to 1337. It was in possession of the Piast dynasty until 1392 when it became part of Bohemia. From 1392 on, this part of Silesia was governed by Habsburg Austria. In 1742 it became part of Prussia. Since the end of World War II it belongs to Poland.
The town hall [left] dates from the 16th–18th century.
