The pilgrimage site Marianka is situated at an elevation of 220 m about 12 km northwest of Bratislava in western Slovakia close to the Austrian border. Marianka is the most important pilgrimage site in Slovakia and also the oldest one in the region of the former Kingdom of Hungary.
The pilgrimage church Nativity of Our Lady was built in 1377 in Gothic style. It was enlarged in the 17th century and remodelled in Baroque style during the 18th century.
The monastery of the Order of St. Paul dates back to the 14th century and was enlarged in 1593.
