The church of St. Martin [background right] was founded in the 7th century within the former castle Stöckenburg. The earliest extant document mentioning the church dates from AD 822. The present church was built in c. 1435. The choir was rebuilt in 1573. The walls and ceiling were painted after the Reformation in the 16th century. The paintings were uncovered during renovation works in 1906. The western part of the church was extended in the 19th century. Further alterations, including a reduction of the size of the nave, werre carried out in the 1960s and 1970s. A treasure of the church is the carved high altar created around 1500.
