Kranjska Gora situated in the extreme northwest of Slovenia at an elevation of 810 m and is the country's largest and most important winter ski resort. World-famous are the alpine World Cup races and the ski jumping competitions of Planica.
The mountains in the background are Prisank (2,545 m) [centre left]
and Mala Mojstrovka (2,332 m) [right]. Between them, the
Vršič pass (1,611 m) leads to the valley of the river Soča.
