Mšené-lázně is situated at an elevation of 213 m about 11 km southwest of Roudnice nad Labem in the district Litoměřice of northwest Bohemia. The municipality has a population of about 1,800 (2018).
The oldest known written document mentioning Mšené dates from 1262. In 1745 the domains were purchased by the counts Kinsky. The first report of the healing properties of the local waters dates from 1790. In 1796 count Kinsky gave permission for the building of a spa. In the early 20th century, the old spa buildings were reovated.
The main building [left, no. 3757], today named Říp,
was built in 1797.
Villa Slovanka [near left, no. 3917] was originally built in 1797 and was
remodeled in 1903.
Villa U Kyselky [near left, no. 4543] was built in 1907.
Further bath houses are named Praděd (built in 1797), Dvorana (built 1905), Vítkov (1913) and
Blaník (1995–1999).
