3294 Montreuillon Montreuillon is situated at an elevation of 297 m in the Morvan mountain region in the département Nièvre of the région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. As of 2014, the municipality has a population of 283. The name Montreuillon is derived historically from Monte Rumilionis or Mons Rumitio, i.e. the name of an ancient domain and its owner.

The aqueduct [left] was built in 1841 and carries the feeder canal that brings water from the artificial Lac de Pannecière at the confluence of the Yonne and the Houssière to the Canal du Nivernais, which connects the Loire and Yonne basins, beginning in Saint-Léger-des-Vignes and ending after 174 km in Auxerre. The aqueduct has 13 arches with a maximum height of 33 m and a total length of 152 m; the feeder canal has a total length of 28 km.
