Mamaia is situated immediately north-east of Constanța and is considered to be Romania's most popular Black Sea resort. Mamaia is 8 km in length and only 300 m in width, being a strip of land between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol. The beach season is at its best between mid May and late September, when average daytime temperatures range between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. The water stays warm until late autumn/fall.
The casino, depicted on glass no. 2640 [left], was built in 1925.
