Sieben Steinhäuser ('seven stone homes') are a group of dolmens in the Lüneburger Heide (Lüneburg Heath), between Bad Fallingbostel and Bergen, constructed by members of the Funnelbeaker culture in the second half of the third millennium BC during the New Stone Age. As there are only five structures, it is not known why they are referred to as the seven stone homes. It is believed that the magical number seven metaphorically stands for a larger number.
Today, the burial ground is surrounded on all sides by the Bergen-Hohne NATO training area. As such, all roads leading to the graves are normally closed to civilian traffic. The site is accessible to civilians only on weekends from 8:00 to 18:00.
