Jagerberg is situated high on the Schlegelberg hill between the valleys of the streams Saßbach and Ottersbach.

The parish church Sankt Andreas was already mentioned in 1269. The Gothic church dates from the 14th century (consecrated in 1480/81) and was enlarged in 1770 in late Baroque style. The tall roof of the church tower was added in 1874.
