The village of Stará Voda (German: Altwasser) is situated at an elevation of 521 m about 30 km northeast of Olomouc. The place was first mentioned in 1456. Today, the village is abandoned since it has become part of the military trainig area of Libavá. Only the pilgrimage church remains. Since 2016 Stará Voda is part of the municipality Město Libavá.
The pilgrimage church of St. Anna [left]
was built in 1688 after plans of the architect Giovanni Pietro Tencalla in place of an older church, which had been mentioned already in 1529.
In the past, the church was cared for by the orders of the Piarists, the Redemptorists,
the Benedictines, and finally by the congregation of the Oblates. The former monasterial buildings have fallen into dereliction, but the
church has been restored.
