1384 Łupawa Łupawa (Lupow) is located in the valley of the river Łupawa east of the county seat Słupsk (Stolp). The place was first mentioned in 1282. From the 15th until the 18th century Łupawa enjoyed some importance as it was situated at the road from Szczecin (Stettin) to Gdańsk (Danzig). In 1689 Łupawa was chartered as a town.

The parish church [background right, barely visible] dates back to the second half of the 13th century and is one of the three oldest churches in East Pomerania. It was first mentioned as a parish church in a document of 1494. Most parts of the present church dates from the 17th and 18th centuries.
