1336 Sebnitz Sebnitz is situated at an elevation of 365 m in the nature reserve region Sächsische Schweiz of southeastern Saxony. The town was founded in the second half of the 12th century and was first mentioned in a document of 1241. In 1451 it came into possession of the Electors of Saxony. Before that, it had belonged to the Kingdom of Bohemia. Sebnitz is well-known as the town of flower-makers. The craftsmanship of flower-making had been introduced to Sebnitz in 1834. Around 1900, the industry had employed some 15,000 people.

The bottom left picture shows the Stadtkirche Sankt Petrus und Paulus. The chancel dates from the end of the 15th century, the nave was added in 1619. The church contains a magnificent painted coffered ceiling of 1619 and a pulpit of 1621. The altar was created in 1586. Frescos date from the 12th and the 15th centuries.

The mountain inn Finkenbaude [bottom right] was built in 1901 and still is a popular tavern today.
